Should be a running play. Rice is going to be expecting us to pass, pass, pass. I say that we catch them off guard by running on our first play. Gives them something to think about as the game goes along...

I'm not counting the kickoff

I'd like a simple confidence builder kind of play. Something quick and easy to get some of those jitters out. This offense is going to take some time to gel and I think people are expecting instant 500 yard 5 TD performances are going to be disappointed. What I want to see out of our offense (hell, the team as a whole) is progress. I want us to be a much better team in Week 5 compared to Week 1 and an even better team in Week 10 than Week 5. That is what I expect to see out of the team this year. Win-Loss record should be reflective of that improvement.

That's an offensive play?
Have the QB (whoever it is) call the play and then call an audible at the line. Rice thinks we're checking out of a pass into a "safe" running play. Pitch to DeMyron Martin, who throws a halfback option pass to Aldrick Robinson. Touchdown.
I really should be a coach.

Only play we need there is either Bo Jackson or Walter Payton taking it all the way.

I have little interest in the offense this year. Based on our previous offensive efforts and JJ's proven capabilities with an offense, Ihave every confidence that it will be fine. I want to see what the defense does. And facing a good receiver the first game will give us some indication of whether we made progress over llast year or not. I sure would like to see more aggressive coverages on the cornors and more varied use of the blitz.

Crabtree is going to have an effing field day against us, but it will be good for our guys to go up against someone like that early in the year. We're not going to play anyone in CUSA that can do what that guy can do.

Wonder no more -
pump fake quick slant to Robinson, deep out to wide open Sanders. Six.

If you want to be a coach you must understand that a kickoff is an offensive play. The team with the ball is on offense.
