First Game of the Season We'll get better as the season goes on I can tell ya now Bennett is chewin em out now atleast he better be! SMU is gonna get better guys but its gonna take some ok a lot of time for it to happen

And Coach Bennett is beginning his second season. Preach doom if it makes you feel better about yourself, but Rome wasn't built in a day. Coach Bennett is building a program, and it takes time. I'm sure when SMU is winning more often than losing (2004? 2005?), you'll be here saying you had faith in him all along.

I'll tell you what disappoints me the most so far. The inability to adjust defensively to Tech's offense. Somehow it reminds me of the Navy game last year when we didn't have a clue at the beginning of the game, and didn't make any adjustments (that worked) for the rest of the game. My understanding was Bennett was going to be more involved with the defense this year.

I'm a big Bennett fan, but this aspect of our game puzzles and disappoints.

Not even close. We're all frustrated with the current score. That's true. But with all due respect to the guys who played their hearts out during Coach Rossley's tenure, this team is a lot better.

Don't be too disappointed. This is not unexpected. TT is a very good team and hard to prepare for. We don't yet have the athletes to compete with a top tier Big 12 team. We are still 3 years from competing for a WAC title. At that time we will be able to compete with the best although not win against them very often. Bennett is getting the guys to do it but our best athletes are freshmen.
