A guy that has been working on NCAA 09 had this to say on Operation Sports after I posted the new uniforms there:

I got word of these the day before our art cutoff. I had to twist some arms to get them in. There was nothing there about changing the helmet so they have the old one still. Sorry.

If any of those brain surgeons (AD's office) read this board we brought up this scenario 2 months ago. Sometimes we just can't help but shoot ourselves in the foot.

From what I read, you can take your own music and have the game play it at certain points. So, for example, you can have the game play Van Halen's Jump after every touchdown (why you'd want to is beyond me). Accordingly, I converted the Knuckleheads' Pony Up into MP3 so I can rock Pony Up after every turnover.

the play and playbook will both be better in the 2010 game FWIW. maybe more gamers will actually choose to use SMU then.

So what is the story with the WII version of NCAA 09, is it not as robust as the other versions?

im very skeptical about buy NCAA 09 for the Wii...it seems too "nintendo kid" friendly if that makes sense to anyone. I'm definitely getting the PS2 version and will have to see how it plays on the Wii after renting it from blockbuster.

Plus i love NCAA for the cover athletes, who the hell thought it would be a great idea to put Sparty on the Wii cover when the likes of McFadden and Ryan are on other versions.

jk, i would typically agree as i have been a loyal fan for yrs and have sworn by the original systems gameplay. however after downloading the 09 demo on 360's marketplace I think you may be surprised with the progress in gameplay and smoothness of the new yrs version

I didn't play '08 so this may be a non-issue, but I really hope two things are improved:

1. AI improved vs. extremely mobile QB.
2. Getting screwed over at the end of the game. I hate how once you get inside 2 minutes in the 4th the computer becomes unstoppable and you somehow can't catch a pass. Infuriating.

I think you might like about the 08+ version is the simulation. At any point int he game, you can let the computer play the next play or rest of the game. So if you play dynasty mode and are a little bored beating UTEP by 35 midway through the third quarter, you can let the computer simulate the restult of the rest of the game.

My biggest complaint about the 08 version on the 360 is I think they made recruiting too complicated. It is probably more realistc, but I just don't give a hoot about calling an imaginary recruit and trying to decide if I should talk up the location of the school or the facilities.

The recruiting was too complicated. If you did it the "right" way then it could take over an hour to do in between games. This was too long and I ended up simulating the recruiting period, which made it less fun because I didn't really get to choose the players I wanted for my system. I hope this changes for 09.

At some point in your lives you will no longer find these games entertaining.

Nothing grades me more to show up at my son’s house (27) and have him playing video games. I guess I should have never introduced them to this form of escape from reality.

Plus he jacked my PS2 and games!

I highly doubt there will be a time in the next 10-15 years where I won't enjoy playing video games (and I'm 25). I can't even begin to think about how many hours I've wasted in the last three or four weeks playing Grand Theft Auto 4. Easily the best video game I've ever played. Also, like many others I have been very disappointed in the NCAA games the past few years, but EA has promised that they've addressed some of the more pressing gameplay problems that have plagued the game in the past. Its too bad we dropped the ball by not getting the right helmet in the game, but whatever. The game still looks boss.
