Just saw this:

The best shots at non-conference triumphs:

3. SMU at Texas Tech, Sept. 13

This is the sixth meeting in the last seven years between these two teams, but this is the first time SMU comes into the game with a realistic chance to win. New Mustang coach June Jones has installed his high-powered run-and-shoot offense, which looks dangerously similar to that of Texas Tech. Jones has also brought back the 1980s "Pony Express" uniform style, no doubt to revive SMU's glory years (sans payment to players). The Mustangs have not scored a touchdown against Texas Tech in each of the last two years (35-3 and 49-9) so there's nowhere to go but up -- or to the end zone.

Tech's defense is going to be pretty good this year.

Who is going to stop Crabtree? McCann? Derrius Bell? Hmm...revamped secondary gets an early test. Can Rock Dennis "rock" the Red Raiders' rampage of receivers? Are we "Smart" enough to read the routes and hamstring Harrell? Stay tuned.

This one will get out of hand early and often-and Texas Tech quartet of DEs will get after SMU like Georgia got after Hawaii.

Quite honestly I don't like our chances either. A team expected to go BCS bowling against us? TTU with a defense?! In the words of the guy who wrote the JJ Hawaii Warrior FB book "[/i]are you kidding me?!"

I'm just glad we don't open against the [deleted] from Lubbock again. At least we have a chance to get out of the gate and build some momentum this year.

Oh how I would love to leave this game 3-0.

It's possible. I would imagine there would be 100 points scored in the Tech game.

I will be very interested in seeing how TT do against Nevada the week before, this will give us an idea of how good their D is. Nevada are a team that puts up lots of offense.

Bill Cosby does a great routine about two cavemen sneaking up on a pair of Saber-toothed tigers with the intent of hitting one of them with a rock. I won’t spoil the whole thing for you, but suffice it to say that I feel like the Caveman when we go up against Tech this year. And I’ve always figured that I’m as sunshiny as anyone.
