oh we've had to listen to all these Frog fans for years talk about how quaint, magestic and unique Amon Carter is-then why do they have long term plans to get rid of all those "unique" aspects of Amon Carter. The place is an architectural nightmare. Scroll down for drawings of their long term plans. You know what it still looks Cock-Eyed to me. Construction should begin just as soon as they get about 100 Million +

I've seen porta poddys that look better. What the hell are they doing over there?
It's time for them to admit their guilt, knock the eyesore down and accurately honor Amon Carter by building a new stadium in his name. He probably rolled over in his grave when he saw these drawings.

The new and old don't mesh together at all. Horrible. Typical.

the section in the end zone looks like the set from Gladiator. doesnt look much different other than that. no matter how much they try and spruce it up, a turd is still a turd in the end...

In that second pic, does it look to anyone else like the main entrance isn't parallel to the midline of the field? I feel slanty when I look at it.

that's what I meant by Cock-eyed. They've got the same kind of problems with Daniel Meyer-everything is Cock-eyed I tell ya!!!

That sums up architecture at TCU. It is the biggest hodgepodge I've ever seen. None of it matches. And that yellow brick is hideous.

I think it's supposed to look like that. Why, I don't know.

Will they brick it in "early industrial ugly" to match the rest of campus?

Once a dump, always a dump.
Thanks again, Mr. Ford.

Looks to me like the actual stadium swivels within the outside structure. Probably so TCU can always have the wind to their back.

HKS Inc. are not hacks; their website sports an impressive portfolio of projects, including American Airlines Center and the new Cowboys stadium in Arlington. They supposedly reached back to the original 1930s stadium as inspiration for their design. I agree w/ couch'em...I think they haven't blended the old and new very well.
They said in an article that they wanted Amon Carter to be the Camden Yards of Fort Worth, or some similar sentiment.
I dunno. I guess I'll just have to hold my nose and see it before throwing crap on it. Stallion's right; it looks off-kilter, like they didn't plumb up the cabinets.

It's actually going to be around 175$ - 250$, and 3/4 of 175$ has been raised since the project was announced in June. The architects of both Camden Yards and the Cowboys stadium are the lead architects of this project and there is currently a bidding war for the lead contractor.
The raising of the current stadium will begin immediately after the Armed Forces Bowl.

That's mighty cheap, if you have trouble raising the additional $75, give me a call, I can probably swing it.

Are they in a bidding war, or are they soliciting bids?

That's going to take a lot of jacks.
