Sounds like he is a good kid, but doesn't like to stay put:

Terance Ganaway, who was 2nd on the team last year with 550 yards rushing and 6 TDs as a true freshman has transferred.

He will be following Art Briles to Baylor.

I'm beginning to think Art Briles at Baylor is going to be a major disaster. Guy Morris didn't get it done but Baylor became a much tougher disciplined team under Morris-no body was laughing at Baylor on gameday any more-they just couldn't find a QB. Briles' commitment list is simply awful considering his team plays in the Big 12. Yeah Briles went to some bowls at UH but he was competing against some horrible programs. Baylor fans are already starting to grumble about this pitiful recruiting class

Seems a strange move for Gannaway to lose a year of eligibility just for the chance to get some playing time in two seasons with the doormat of the Big 12....seems like it would be more fun to be runnin and gunnin with Houston against cruddy teams and going to bowls.

He must really like Briles.

Didn't this kid originally commit to SMU ? In the words of that famous prophet from Sherwood " we did not want him anyway"

he committed to Phil Bennett who wanted him to play Safety. Ganaway wanted to play RB so he switched to Rice and then UH.

The keeper is right. I have talked to a couple of Baylor people who are not enthused about this move to Briles.

Big 12 Baylor is 0-6 in direct recruiting battles with MWC TCU on players both teams have offered.

Won't he still have 3 years left? This will be a de facto red-shirt for him won't it?

True,

He will have to sit a year but can use his redshirt and still have 3 years.

Based on the scholars he got at Cougar High, imagine the kind of kids he can land once he masters the Baylor basketball recruiting model.

I agree, Stallion... And once they see what Jones' is able to post up this season with just what Bennett had, they're going to be sick.

If you doubt that, you are an idiot.

You people know nothing about this kid, what kind of person he is or what is going on in his world.

He commits to Bennett during his junior year of high school only to have Bennett stop contacting him while Todd Graham at Rice and Art Briles at Houston are wooing him all thru his senior year. So, he decides to change his committment from SMU to Todd Graham at Rice. Soon after, Graham up leaves Rice for Tulsa. So, TG changes his committment to the other coach who really showed interest in him, Art Briles at UH. TG enrolls in UH 3 or 4 days after he graduates high school so he can begin working out in the strength and conditioning program. During this time, he makes an A in Chemistry the first semester and an A in Finite Math the second semester, all while working his butt off in the weight room. He plays for UH as a true freshman, gaining 550 yds rushing and 6 TD's as a backup to Anthony Alridge, only to have his coach bail on him again. UH brings in a new head coach, who brings in the offensive coordinator from Texas Tech. UH installs what is pretty much the Texas Tech red Raider offense. TG guts it out during the spring, hoping that even though the new offense doesn't fit him at all, something may work out for him and his quest to be a successfull college running back. But, the Texas Tech Air Raid Offense just isn't the best offense for the type of running back that Terrance is.

So, while he has been off the past week or so, taking care of little things like burying his mom, who just died of cancer, he had a lot of time to think, evaluate and pray for the important things in his life like......uh.....his future. He decided UH was not what was best for his future, and wanted to go where there was some familiarity. Thus, he chose Baylor.

So, you can crack on TG all you want, but I know the kid, and he would NEVER crack on you or anyone else.

Terance Ganaway doesn't play for SMU. I don't care.
