this morning. AutoZone Liberty Bowl Golf Tourney this a.m. from Ridgeway C.C. 560 WHBQ with a live remote....Jones on from 7 - 7:15...Orsini on as he made the turn, from 9 - 9:15.

Jones was asked.."Coach, about how long will it take you to install and have your offensive philosphy in place at SMU?" They way the question was asked, it was obvious the sports guy thought JJ would say "2 to 3 years". Jones instead says.."Oh, about 3 or 4 GAMES" Love it!!! He talked about the cons of the Hawaii job and the positives of the SMU gig...he spoke of the excitement already being generated in the Texas high school ranks of kids, TALENTED kids, especailly QB's and receivers, wanting to come to SMU...

Orsini talked about the positive direction of C-USA, and touched on the quality of coaches in football and men's hoops. Also, was asked about the ND job, and said he had work to do at SMU.....

Orsini is impressive...I know you Dallas folks know this. He is the right guy, no doubt.

Two years ago, we were lamenting our coaching staff and Athletic Depatment leadership (candidly handicapped by previous administration decisions).

Today the faces of SMU Athletics are Junes and Steve. Very impressive, encouraging and commitment to SMU's success. Attitude is everything.

And arguably the faces of CUSA, at least until we play a game. I don't recall seeing Toledo, Graham, Skip Holtz, on the front page of Rivals or ESPN.com in the offseason. Maybe Fedora.
