Browser crashing?

Postby PonyPride » Mon Jul 21, 2008 10:41 am

There have been some complaints over the last couple of days about browsers crashing when logged in to PonyFans.com.

We need to collect some data about when this is happening, and to whom. So, if this has happened to you, please send a private message to smoopower, detailing three things (and he might have additional questions for you):

1. What web browser are you using?
2. What page of PonyFans.com were you on when the browser crashed?
3. What anti-virus software (if any) are you running?

(If anyone has captured a screen shot of the crash message, please send that along to smoopower, as well.)

Thanks for your help.

Out of curiosity, has anyone complained other than Onetrick Pony?

PonyPride is experiencing a lot of crashes but I can't duplicate it. I might have to go look and see what is going on with his machine if it keeps up.

A month or two ago I opened ponyfans and it tried to download something. This happened twice, and never happened since or on any other sites. No problems since then. Using latest firefox.

I used firefox 3 for about 12 seconds before it crashed and puked all over everything. It's probably a bit more stable now, but it quirks out on random pages (in my experience). I've never had pf.com crash any of my machines, in IE6, IE7, or Firefox 2.

I've had this site come when I got on ponyfans a few times before, but I haven't seen it in awhile.

No, way more than 3... just 3 diff browsers I have recently viewed ponyfans on... I guess technically it never crashed Mozilla, Opera, Safari, or Nokia's mobile browser either.

There are 5 computers I see ponyfans on at least once a week, lol

Crashing browser may not be the correct description, but I have personally had the experience of a popup showing up on the PF.com message boards, and when I clicked on the "X" in the upper righthand corner to close it, it went full screen on me and then when I again clicked on the "X" to close it, it threw me out of my internet session. I then got a message from my Norton security program stating that an intrusion had been blocked. Don't know if that is the same experience the others have had, but it is sortof like having your browser crash.

I had a few threads that were redirected to another site. It was a anti-virus site but I can't remember the name of it. It happened several times later last week.

It happened in the fball and bball forums and not any particular threads. It was very strange.
