Sun Belt- "Conference of Last Resort"

CUSA is truly lucky to have 6 Bowl Game slots. The Sun Belt is the conference that gets picked if every other conference doesn't have enough teams to fill its allotted bowls

Can they fill their bowl quotas?

If a team has to have a winning reocrd or be 6-6 to be bowl eligible, you have got to wonder if their conference can even supply enough teams for the bowls they have. Their conference is indeed the one of last choice.

I believe we were 1-1 against the Sun Belt conference last season. Not that that means much except we sucked. We are fortunate to have a conference that has so many tie ins to bowls. Even if the bowls are not exactly well know/watched/ respected, it does give us the opportunity to play a little post season ball.

It's a good thing we blackballed poor little NTSU into their pitiful conference.

it would definitely be interesting to play NTSU in one of those bowls. i just hope its the St. Petersburg Bowl. much rather go to Florida than Birmingham or Shreveport. but i'm gonna cross my fingers and hope for that Liberty Bowl

Better to be in any bowl than to not be in one at all.

So far having six slots hasn't helped the Ponies

It's true, when the only team you're any better than is NTCC, you don't make it to many bowls.

Those bowls they added aren't gauranteed berths... who cares.

Where's that tool that's about to post about this being another NTSCC thread?

That's true.
Thank god we at least beat North Texas State Vocational School despite trying to throw the game. That would have been really depressing.

Nice first shot. Bet you can't come up with another. Too bad you won't get that first place draw into the illustrious New Orleans Bowl to match up against a 6-6 CUSA team.

Well at least we've been there. Yep we're 1-3 in the New Orleans Bowl, but did beat CUSA co-champ Cincy in '02. Now tell me about your bowl games in the past 20 years.

Don't have a clue. I do remember the SMU grads that I employed always looked slick carrying their new briefcase with a Wall Street Journal tucked under their arm  They were passable as mid level employees, but lacked initative & needed a lot of direction.
