No one has commented on the new unis yet. How did they look??

I wasn't there, but I heard the radio commentators say they thought they were sharp, however, you couldn't see the red mustang on the blue helmet very well.

I'm diggin the unis! That is one sharply dressed football team, and I love the socks.

I'm kind of 50-50 on this look.

Who cares.. the Giants are an NFL team. If we look like an NFL team, I'm all for it.

They're sharp. I can't wait to see the blue and red jerseys!

The new uniforms are ok, but to be honest I prefer the old ones.

One problem is, the new helmet looks great close up, but fans up in stands can hardly see the horse logo on the helmet.

Of course SMU Football has more serious problems to worry about right now.

That's true, but it can be solved easily enough. Next year, when (equipment manager) Ed Davidson orders the decals, get them made with a thin white border. That will make the red Mustang stand out beautifully on the blue helmet.

UNF Mustang, thanks for the link. Love the photos, and I think the unis look great. Agreed on the helmet, but such is life. Anyone else go to the link? I love the photo on the first page in the middle of Rushbrook getting dragged down by his facemask. Don't remember a call on that one!

Better yet. Why don't we go retro like OU? Spray paint the helmets fire engine red with a white pony on the side like the late 60s early 70s helmets. The rest of the uniform stays the same.

I'm a sucker for the old ones, but I have to admit I like the look of these new uniforms. The helmet doesn't bother me so much. I think it looks kind of sinister. Also, we don't look like a USFL team, as so many schools new unis do. Diggin' the grey pants, as well. Sharp look for the Mustangs.

i have to admit - they look sharp...its a more traditional look & not all this trendy crap...i'd prefer the crimson/red helmets of the 60's & 70's and the glory years of 30's & 40's but i can learn to love this - afterall they do look great & it looks 'smu'...

as far as the red/crimson mustang blending in with the 'smu blue' (navy) helmet, i don't think its a big factor...i still can't see the the 'white' hog on the cardinal helmets of ark - all they look like is a blip of some kind from a distance anyways (sarcasm)...i think dividing the crimson mustang from the navy with a 'white' line would break the color scheme of the total uniforms...i do remember a story several months back where they tried that very same thing & all it did was make the look more 'busy' or uneven in relation to the red & blue schemes of the pants & the jerseys.

ps...to me they're more like the ol miss unis than the giants.

Well, as a Tech fan, I didn't care too much for the new uniforms, especially the helmet. Can't see the pony at all. And gray pants?

Of course we change uniforms annually and they still don't look too great...
