We find ourselves in an unusual position for Rice Owls in July. Usually we're waiting on our first commit or least perhaps another one. After a fantastic effort by the Rice Football Coaching Staff, we're now speculating on who will finish the class off...
Though the 2009 Rice Football Recruiting Class is seemingly nearly complete, there's still plenty to talk about in regards to recruiting. Owl Digest will of course follow and report the completion of this year's talented group, but will also keep you up to date with each of the group's senior seasons. Look for a weekly feature with stats, scores, and game notes as the 2008 high school season begins. Most of the Owl recruits I've talked to begin practice August 4th.
Not only is it time for the future Owls to strap on the helmets, our own guys in the Blue and Gray will do the same as they begin to report next weekend. Throughout August pre-season practices we'll keep you current on position battles and development of the newcomers as we lead up to the season opener against SMU on August 29th.
The 2008 Owls have worked extremely hard since last season under Yancy McKnight and staff's tutelage. They are bigger, stronger, and faster than any Owl team in recent history. They definitely look the part of champions, and are eager and ready to make 2008 a winning season. Owl Digest will be there as each play happens.
In Tidbits this week we caught up to some elusive recruits, we've got updates and interview segments on many of the questions you wanted answers for...
