We're doing pretty good, but I've always felt like pretty good will eventually get your butt beat," Holland said of the progress C-USA has made since taking on five new members in 2005. "If there is something better you can do, you'd better do it now, as soon as you can, instead of coasting. That's why I keep pushing on that (expansion) issue."

Good question. It's certainly slim pickings.

I would assume out west they would try to bring TCU back into the fold, and probably also look at La. Tech, Arkansas State, and UNT (I know, I know...) There really isn't much else.

In the east, it's not too great either: Troy, FAU, Temple, Western Kentucky, MTSU, maybe Miami of Ohio out of the MAC

Doesnt make much sense to me

According to Holland, "by and large," Houston, Tulsa and UTEP are better than Rice, Tulane and SMU." For starters, no one is allowed to talk about how much we suck other than us. Secondly, it seems like in the last four years or so we've done better against Houston, Tulsa and UTEP than Rice and Tulane.

And expanding to 16? Isn't that what killed the superWAC? The schools that left to form the MWC got tired of going to conference meetings with "48 guys at one table," where nothing could get done.

Waaah! Waaah! Waaah!

Who does Holland think is going to pay C-USA more $$$$ if they expand?

He should probably look at the history of the WAC when they expanded to 16 teams and were not as geographically diverse as his projection.

Check out Wikipedia at:

The answer is as simple as Al Davis of the Raiders always said:

JUST WIN BABY!

I would add Texas and Arkansas in the west and LSU and Florida in the east. That should help.

Unfortunately it is much more likely we add UTsa when they begin their D1 program in 2 years.

Talk about a reason for firing a Baylor President, let one move them from a BCS conference to a mid major.

Oh please. Who cares what Terry Holland thinks? There's a reason he's in Nowhere, North Carolina and not the ACC anymore.

But if he wants to keep giving bulletin-board material (granted, that must wait at least a year), that's not a problem. I hope the Owls notice this for a future year also, and I really hope Tulane kicks their butts in the Superdome on Sept 13.
