Several people on this board have said that all the float participants were freshman players who were wearing jerseys of other players. I believe (although never certain) that it has been verified not only that Mapps was not on the float, but that he is gone from the program.
Posted: Wed Jul 30, 2008 10:05 amHe was gone at the beginning of the summer. I highly doubt the university would have allowed him to be on a float representing the university. What if he was harboring a grudge, thought he had been dismissed unfairly, etc.? The mere potential that he could have acted up makes it extremely unlikely that he was involved in anything representing SMU.
