For those who worry about Willis's accuracy...

His career completion percentage is 62 percent (67 two years ago, 58 percent last year when he spent half the season running for his life). Among SMU quarterbacks with at least 200 attempts in his career, Willis ranks first in school history.
Also, in games in which an SMU quarterback has thrown at least 20 passes, Willis has the TOP SIX games in school history in terms of completion percentage.

I hope he starts. Why don't you ask Jones for some specific comments on Willis? His silence on the topic is deafening.

He'll let you know how he feels when he makes his decision. He has five QB's he's evaluating and he doesn't have a favorite, YET.

I bet he has a favorite, or at least a leader, in his mind. But he's way too smart to name one now.

Good call, jt. Actually, I have, and as pony warrior suggested, his responses have been basically (paraphrasing here) "it's early, we're evaluating, we've got a lot of guys we like, they're all learning, they'll get better, etc."

I think it's smart on his part not to announce a starter this early. If he says Willis is my starter and all the sudden Logan Turner looks outstanding and Willis is sucking wind, he will be have to reevaluate his choice and at the same time send a message that he doens't stick by his choice. Bottom line though, it's a typical coaching answer. Don't pin yourself into a corner.

c'mon, people who know football think its obvious but there are soo many others just think the QB is to blame, you should have heard everyone in the student section last year blaming him for the offense sputtering and they didnt recognize that he was counting to one-one thousand in his head before getting hit....it was worse than the nfl

I agree with you - it just sounded too much like a Yogi Berra quote - "90% of the game is half mental" or something like that.

I've always liked Willis but I think Logan is going to get very serious consideration. Wouldn't surprise me to see him start.

Wouldn't surprise me if Turner doesn't end up in the top 4.

Wouldn't surprise me if he decides to join a rock band

wouldn't surprise me if Logan Turner got snapped in two in his first appearance. Never in my life have seen a more fragile, frail looking starting QB in Division 1A
