Baylor / Tech Question

Why oh why do both these games have 6pm kickoff times?

Are these schools trying to save on their electric bills? Are they afraid that too many of their alumni have bedtimes before 10:30pm? or are they just preparing some in the stands for the afterlife?

The sun sets at 7:38pm two weeks from now in Waco. Kickoff should be at 7:20pm

All early SMU games are scheduled for late kickoffs at home as well (7pm this year, 6pm in years past). College games typically do not start very late unless they are on TV...also, you are talking about 'lesser' programs that want to be as family friendly as possible.

Also - i think they like to see if they can get peole to eat at the game, instaed of before the game and spend more money - If you have smaller kids, a 10-10:30pm finish time before the drive home is a bit late - so they are also trying to get those families there.

The lights were on at Jones SBC all afternoon and long before kick-off time.
