Passions lift Pitt assistant BennettSMU - IT'S YOUR TURN
FIRE JUNE JONES ![]() USC Trojan for Life and SMU Dad!
Question: What's the difference in every photo you've seen of PB and JJ in practice or a game (besides the 'stache) ?
Best of luck to PB at Pitt.

A lot of that is the difference between coaching offense and defense. Defensive coordinators are often the fiery, hot-tempered types. Offensive coordinators (I'm including JJ in this group) have to think several plays ahead. They can't get as caught up in emotion. Maybe that's a generalization, but it's something I've observed over the years. But yeah, they are definitely two different personalities, at least on the sidelines.
Jimmy Johnson sure screamed a lot and he won a few games in that place called Dallas. Dave campo was the so called players coach and we saw how he did. Parcells to dungy...gruden to cowher. Sometimes the players you have on the field might, just might, affect how good the coaching is from time to time. Poor wade Phillips.

Saw him at Cantina Laredo in Preston Royal Shopping Center the week before training camp began. He was slammin' a few down.
Excellent article. It reminds me of the press Phil got when he joined SMU. Despite the challenges at SMU and the lack of success, I remain a fan of Phil and wish him all the best. Wannestedt is also a quality guy and I enjoyed his time with the Chicago Bears.
