here is a great break down of what the A-11 is and where it was developed.

How about a third option? "Just plain fun".

I've been reading about A-11 and its quick kick formation and all the prep work that has to be done to educate referrees on it. Sounds like fun. Florida runs several sets out of an A-11 formation, as does Highland Park at the high school level. We have a moron Pop Warner coach who thinks his 11 year old is up to running the same kind of thing. IMHO, as the only set a team might run, I don't think it's a long-term option nor as versatile as the multiple or pro-set offense. It's too gimmicky for all but the most athletic and intelligent of offensive players to run, and if any player in it misses his assignment, the whole offense takes a header.
