I'm glad we got some ink, but the article really could've just been a blog entry as follows, and accomplished the same thing:
SMU coach June Jones insists that the Mustangs quarterback derby is nowhere near complete, that it's just as open today as it was when practice started last week. By next Monday, Jones said he'll have his choices narrowed down to two.

This is the first publication I've seen that has listed J-Will's correct height. A friend of mine who had a class before J-Will and would pass him regularly in Hyer Hall and is 6-1 (J-Will's height according to the gameday programs) said he had an inch or two on J-Will.
Anyways good to see the press and good to hear that there will soon be some news on the QB competition.

I agree it wasn't much of a story, but then we're spoiled by Pride's updates.

No. The Dallas Morning News got all the kid's heights and weights from the new Media Guide. In it, Willis is listed at 5-11, 197.
A follow-up to Stallion's request yesterday... Would it be helpful if I posted all the latest heights/weights from the new media guide?

This story is the same info that has already been in the DMN, ponyfans, and ponystampede: Nobody knows anything about the QB situation.

I predict Willis will start. I'm fine with that. JJ will pick the best man for the job.

I have a feeling it won't be Willis starting against Rice.

Why do you say that?

Just have a feeling. Jones has talked about the performance of his other QBs, but never Willis. All he ever talks about is the suspension and how Willis was allowed back because he did what they asked him. Frankly, I want Willis to start because he gives the best chances for SMU. I think if Jones does not start Willis it'll be a mistake.

I don't know, jt. I really think Willis is the man. I base this on the three practices I've seen and Pride's practice report from yesterday.
You think maybe some of your feeling is left over from the Chris Phillips situation?

wow i am exactly the same size as jwill, makes me scared to think of him as our QB a bit, and yes i know i am not an elite athlete but still
i hope this does not go the way of ND last year or the bears right now, sounds like we need some stability

Gotta love the drama. I think Jones plays one mean game of Poker.
