I'm of the opinion that if we start a true freshman, we're screwed. Unless, of course, he's f'ing great. Didn't Matthew Stafford struggle at UGA as a true freshman? How did Clausen do at ND? We're not going with a 4 or 5 star true freshman. I hope I wind up being surprised, but in the meantime humor me with this poll question.

Maybe Jones wants to start a freshman, so that we will come in with lower expectations the first year.

I'm of the opinion that June Jones is well capable of picking the best QB option for SMU.

Maybe JJ knows what he is doing. I asked the QB question in Austin last spring when they toured him around Texas and he went straight to the Freshman as though he already knew who was best. The future of this program is in his hands and I think we ought to trust our $2 million man.
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

I think this is a bad decision, but I'm not sure we weren't screwed in whoever he picked at QB. I just thought Willis would give us the best chance, especially over true freshmen.

If anyone but JW starts, it shows JJ is using this as a definate rebuilding year and not planning on s quick of a turnaround as he did in Hawaii. We'll be lucky to be 2-5 to begin the season, and another year without a bowl, so I feel sorry for the seniors.

Absolutely. If JJ picked Mitchell, Mitchell is the best QB we have for his system.
We may lose to Rice (but I don't think so), but by Tulane, I bet this kid is singing!

his quick turn around at Hawaii was considered a "rebuilding year" before they started winning all those games.

Also, remember JJ did turn it around from 0-12 to 9-4 but the next year was 3-9. I'll take a slower start if we build on it.

i remember everyone said we would kill tulane in 2005...didnt turn out that way. thats why games are played on the field not on paper.
