The Chicago Bears just named Kyle Orton their starter. Rex Grossman sits. Maybe he and Justin Willis can talk about what it's like to be dumped.

I was thinking the opposite, have BLM call Aaron Rodgers and find out how difficult it is to replace a star, especially after a few bad games.

I hate to admit it, but '03 is right. Actually, JWill might be able to start for them. He's a helluva lot faster and more agile than Orton and Grossman.

I think the star thing should be used very loosely when it comes to Mr. Willis.

Actually, given SMU's history with jilted QBs, this probably means Willis will be the next one to go to the NFL. :?

After having heard JJ speak about a dozen times about QBs and his offense, I can see what a premium he places on the importance of buying wholeheartedly into his system. And maybe he's getting that more from his freshmen than Willis (who may still be lingering a little in the doghouse from last spring).

"Jones said that part of his decision also involved the psyche of Willis, a fourth-year junior this fall who has started most of the last two seasons and has a school-record 51 touchdown passes."

So what exactly does that mean?

"I told Justin he's only one play or two plays away from being the guy, so he's got to be ready."

That sure sounds to me like he's left the door open for Willis to try taking the job back.

Just speculating; trying to read between the lines.

I just call it a lame story on a relatively slow sports day.

I find it interesting that everyone is ready to throw Justin to the wolves. He busted his [deleted] for two years. Sure, he didn't win a lot of games with a so so team. He was the one bright spot last year. Who knows, many of you may be begging to have him back.

If he had busted his [deleted] in the classroom last semester, this discussion might not be taking place.
