and I am ok with Bo Levi at QB. It is not what I expected, not is it in my opinion, the best move for starting out the season. But this is what it is and I am getting excited about the start of the new season. Arguments can be made all day long as to the reasons not to start a true freshman, but the fact is that it is happening and we have no control over this. I have found in my years of experience that yelling at my computer has never solved any problem other than clearing my throat of spittel.
Reading Dooby's list of freshman QBs shows several 5 star kids but we must remember that we also are not playing against a bunch of 5 star kids, so maybe the difference will not be so bad. I just hope that Bo can adjust to the crowds. He is used to playing before much bigger ones in high school and this could be a culture shock.

I was a bit taken by the choice but not shocked. JJ has his system and it isn’t what Rusty ran. It requires a different skill set. JW seems to have some difficulties demonstrating the skill sets needed to run JJ's offense. The QB this year needs to be accurate and reduce turnovers. He doesn’t need an All American type year. Just consistency and reduced turnovers.
I am much, much more concerned with the defense. The key to any 'turnaround' will be the improvement our defense demonstrates. The performance of our DL, LBs and corners are more key to success than who is starting at QB.

I will go on having hope that the Mustangs will win each week, but I think my hopes just got a little more desperate with the decision to drop the all time touchdown leader to third string. That said, mrydel's sage wisdom strikes a chord once again--this is a decision we will have to live with. And look, despite my opinion on this decision, Jones is presumably no dummy. Maybe this kid will lead us out of the desert, and I'm just to lost in the dark to see it. Or maybe a great game plan is to resign this season and work on the future with the QBs of the future.
But look at the bright side. The real draw on Saturday in recent past has always been the 'vard and it will continue to be. I'll be hitting it hard this year boys, so look out.

Look at it this way. At least the reason we have no tight ends is not because they all moved to quarterback.

Which reminds me. Flying home from Indy this past weekend, I felt it would be somewhat inappropriate to ask for 11 miniature bottles of Bacardi to get me through the season. Wonder if you can buy those things in bulk? 1 bottle to 1 of the fountain drinks at Ford works wonders. Factor in basketball season and I'll need what, 30 of them?

There are other reasonable substitutes. I put my Jack Daniels in a couple of 50ml conical tubes that I acquire at work. They seal completely and fit in my pockets, so they make very efficient booze smugglers, and 1 tube in 1 drink is the right ratio.

My uncle used to fill empty 35mm film canisters (ya know, the little black plastic ones with the grey lids?) and drink from those. The things you can learn from alcoholics...
