" Oh what a night"

I have NEVER seen a room so full of SMU legends as I saw tonight.

From birthday boy Louie Kelcher all the way to Mike Romo of " The Miricle on Mockingbird" era.

Mr. Orsini spoke of the thanks to Coach Doherty for the introduction to Eric D. Eric D spoke of the time and effort put into SMU by Steve O. The phone calls and the acceptance of ideas and the passion for SMU.

Eric is a great speaker and pretty darn funny too. He spoke of 1980 Texas game and Lance and Reggie and Richards and too freaking many others went wild.

The Education Department got a check for 45 grand and the Spinal Cord Injury Charity got a check for 45 grand.

Robert Lee Kolb played music and has written a song for SMU. He also produced an infomercial for this years team.

The whole night was MC'd by Gary Cogill who was JJ's catcher on their high school baseball team. JJ once pitched a no hitter in high school and lost 1 to nothing. Figure that.

I have NEVER seen a room full of SMU supporters standing and dancing in the isles to the new Robert Lee Kolb song.

There is love and passion and desire for SMU to be reborn.

It was great to see Roger the Dodger and he loves SMU too.

Oh what a night.

Peace be with you always.

I want to thank Greg Gardner for inviting Erin and I to this function. He is another Mustang working to build SMU into a top 25 program.
Thanks Greg.

Please do not correct my spelling or grammer - Its freaking late and I have had a few cocktails.

I doubt this is our year for the big football turnaround, but it is truly great to see all of the greats in SMU history coming out to support the University - in a few years this thing should be a real source of pride for us all.

Go Mustangs!
