Waking up in the middle of the night, again... just like most nights. I had to, of course, check PF, but then - again like most nights when I wake up in the middle of the night - I checked the online DMN sports, and found....

Not great (in terms of the depth of the video report), but great to see.

I wonder if Bobbi has been told by DMN to give a [deleted], or if she simply does give a [deleted]. The 'media roundtable' on the radio show last week was outside normal working hours, and she was there. I like the fact that she went to a private school that wasn't the only show in town (okay, having to compete with the Brewers and Bucks isn't exactly tough). I also like the fact that she embraces and acknowledges the existence of pf.com and scout, rather than acting like they don't exist, and fishing the boards for ideas, then waiting 2-3 weeks to 'verify sources,' and only then writing something in the colleges blog that we'd been discussing for nearly a month.

Anyone else like them some Bobbi?

Is she hot? That's all we really care about.

(that's a joke, Bobbi, if you are reading....)

Any one ever think she is trying to do her job and also that if you feed a reporter info on a regular schedule you get more press and then more bums in the seats at games. Some of you guys have the first hand info pass it on see if the game crowd can be built up a little

and therein you see my point. She is trying...which IMO is a step up from what we're accustomed to.

I like me some Bobbi. I think she is doing a better job, and I just hope that she has lots of good news to report.

The DMN is giving us some postive because of the JJ excitement. If we don't start to win soon, the honeymoon won't last long.

I thought Katie the Greek did a good job, and her coverage was head and shoulders better than what we've had in the past. So I was a little miffed when she got reassigned.

But I'm really coming around to Bobbi. Every day I've dropped in on practice, she's been out there in the hot sun recorder in hand. And she seems to have genuine enthusiasm for the program. I'm glad we have her; the coverage thus far has been an improvement.

The link (above) is actually to That Dallas Morning News' 2008 SMU football preview. It's pretty superficial stuff for diehard PonyFans (any poster on this board has at least that basic level of knowledge), but I think it's just about perfect for the Dallas Community at large. Some good footage of Braden in high school. Sells the excitement of the coming season. Hope to see more.

Does it matter to anyone that Jones is giving the hookem' horns sign in the 2nd shot of him on this tape?

Are we all forgetting Calvin Watkins?

I think he was the best of the bunch. I think he proved his worth when he became the Cowboys beat writer.

JV will always hold a special place in my heart for trying to destroy the program. It's nice when your beat reporter sees it as her job to do you in.

Bobbi is doing a good job so far.

No, Steve Malin tried to destroy the program. Jodie did her job and covered the story that was there.
