What a difference game can make

We win at Rice:

1. We all bask in the glory of a 'winning team' for a week
2. We acknowledge the true greatness of JJ and his Jedi-like qualities
3. We believe in BLM and the "system"
4. We look at an opening crowd of 26,000 versus Tx State
5. We hear Stallion give us the "told-you-so's" and the like

We lose at Rice:

1. We all start thinking about where we start in the ESPN bottom 10
2. We wonder if JJ is all he's cracked up to be and question his calls
3. We believe in an "open" QB battle and cry for JW to reappear
4. We look at an opening crowd of 18,000 versus Tx State (only 14K in stands)
5. We hear Stallion give us the "told-you-so's" and the like

I'd like to hope we'd be more mature as fans than that. I've still got Rice as an L. We ought to start clicking around the time we play TCU or Tulane. Close out the year strong at 5-7 with legitimate higher hopes for 2009.

I plan on enjoying every snap. Hope does that for you.

I think many have said your sentiments for the past 20 years.

As finicky as Dallas (i.e. SMU) fans are, I can see the result swinging the attendance for the home opener by several thousand. In other words, the walk-up crowd. I know the rest of us already have our tickets and intend on being there (at least I think).

It really doesn't matter, win or lose, we will still have item no. 5 under your lose alternative.
