UNIVERSITY PARK – Like most kids, Ryan Smith sighed when his dad would take the family to his alma mater and relive his glory days.
"Every time we'd go to SMU, we'd act like we've never been before," said Smith. "He'd tell us the same stories about his dorm, and he'd reminisce, like, 'I used to walk there to go to class,' and 'I stayed here for one year,' and where my mom would visit him."
Then he'd get to the good part.
Anthony Smith was a receiver from 1977-80, just as the Pony Express era took root. He finished college with 82 catches for 1,158 yards and three touchdowns.
