Tim Tebow saying it "wouldn't be bad" to play a Jones-coached Hawaii team or SMU, Tebow said "I'm sure they have a great system (at SMU)."

i feel like tebow's style of play doesn't go with JJ's offensive style at all. i'm sure tebow's a good enough athlete to figure out a way to make it work but i feel like he's far from JJ's prototype qb.

what could have been was Tim Tebow rushing for 4 TDs and throwing for 4 TDs.

Tebow would be the third String QB here.

Never supported firing a single Coach since DP. Hated Dave Smith though. The reasons for the failure of the previous Coaches had little to do with Coaching. Each could have taken the team to Bowls under different circumstances. As for Tebow he doesn't fit the system-third string just like the 2006 CUSA Newcomer of the Year.

Tebow was a run-and-shoot QB in high school with excellent accuracy. JJ knew this because one of Tebow's top targets in high school actually is a receiver at Hawaii and the WR's father was one of Tebow's coaches in high school.

JJ simply nullified a lot of the "system QB" talk for Colt by pointing out the Tebow ran a system also. Tebow would not have started in front of Colt, but I believe Tebow would have started over any other QB at Hawaii under JJ.

The facts are that before Colt spoke up about Colt/Tebow the polls of Heisman voters did NOT have Colt in the top 5. He was completely off many ballots in polls! After JJ spoke up, there was a firestorm of press (helped by Tebow's reaction to JJ's comments) and Colt shot up into the top 3 or 4. I honestly believe that if JJ said nothing that Colt would not have been a Heisman finalist.

I never blame a coach for sticking up for his players. I know that coach hype (especially from JJ) can be overdone, but the timing was calculated by JJ and served its purpose.

Hawaii made a half hearted attempt to land Tebow out of high school. There's no douth that if Tebow signed with Hawaii (ya right, that would happen) he would have started in front of Brennan. You forget, Brennan wasn't named the starter upon signing. In fact, he was Graunke's back-up for a while. Graunke got hurt and Brennan never gave back the job.

If you think JJ made that statement about Tebow because he wanted to help out Colt then you're mistaken. Like many things JJ says, it really not thought out, just spur of the moment type of comments. He doesn't have the brain to mastermind something of this nature. Good football mind, wait..not even that. great offensive mind but the rest of his mind is pretty dead. He was really trying to defend HIS SYSTEM versus trying to help Colt.

Former porn star.

I recall that both of Tebow's parents attended Florida and encouraged him to remain close to home and attend Florida. Realistically, there was little chance he gave Hawaii much serious thought.
