A new era begins

In 1995 I went with my dad to a UT/SMU game at the Cotton Bowl...that was the first time I ever saw SMU play...unfortunately it was on the UT side (my dad's a UT grad). Loss, and plenty more pain for SMU football until...

In 2002 I went to my first SMU game as a student...a game that was supposed to be the start of a new era at SMU under our new coach and savior, Phil Bennett....the fire before the game should have been a dead giveaway. Loss, and plenty more pain for SMU football until....

Now, in 2008 I'll be attending the games as a 4th year season ticket holder under our new coach and savior, June Jones. Here's to hoping this era both starts and continues in a completely different direction than the way my first two "eras" of SMU football went.

I always stick by my teams - I was a huge Mavs fan as a kid even through the pain of the 1990s, I've always been a Rangers fan and always will be, and I'll always be a huge Mustangs fan, no matter what. Now let's go beat Rice and get this era off on the right foot!

Go Mustangs!

Well, if it isn't a new era, at least it a new season We can put away the "wait till next year" slogan for a few weeks now.

Maybe the 3rd time really is the charm. Otherwise, we might have to ban you from attending games.

I dont know why most people on this board expected a quick 1 game turnaround with new system and new coaching staff
