Go ahead and dismiss what I have to say

Because this is only my second post on this message board.

However, I'll put it out there anyhow....

Logan Turner should be given a shot sometime this season. Even though June didn't recruit him, he looked good in spring as well as early on this summer.

Many people have stated that Bo was fatigued and I completely agree. Most of his passes that were completed early on were screens and routes under 10 - 15 yards. However, even with the short passes, he was clearly worn out by the third quarter. If JJ doesn't want to go with Willis (which some would argue is absurd), why won't he give a shot to Turner who threw about 35 balls a game in high school and who has looked good in practice. If you ask me, something off the field happened that briefly put Turner out of the top two positions. But - it didn't take long for JJ to realize that Smith wasn't a number two guy and you could see tonight that Turner is deserving of "at least" that spot.

It was definitely late in the game but Turner's arm looked good and his decision making skills did too.

Bo looks to be a good kid and I'm sure he was a great high school quarterback. However, it is very hard to prepare yourself to throw 40-50 passes a game when you aren't used to that. Perhaps he will be one day....I don't know. JJ is obviously an excellent quarterback talent evaluator.

But - for my money, I would like to see this "battle" take place on the game field rather than the practice field.

Turner had been good in practice, he has "spread" experience, strong arm and he looked excellent in "mop up time" tonight.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of him next Saturday....

Bo was rattled by the end of the game, and it was the right decision to let Turner bus drive the rest of the way.

However, he doesn't have the physical tools that BLM does. BLM is the QB of the future, you have to play him until he loses confidence this season.

BLM has great mechanics, a great arm, and good pocket sense. I could see his tools and why Jones wants to develop the kid. Turst JJ when it comes to QBs. By the end of the season, he won't overthrow the early deap balls when players were wide open and Robinson won't drop 71 yard TD passes.

I know the scoreline looks bad, but think about this. 28 points directly off of turnovers (3 essentially returned for TDs), and Robinson drops that TD pass. Could have been a much different game without the mistakes.

JJ has said over and over again that a few mistakes dictate who wins a game. SMU's youth made the mistakes to lose this game, but give it a few games and a little maturity and we will be fine.

Go ahead and dismiss what I say

Keep the faith. Turner will get his chance.
By the way "Welcome to the board". It maybe a long haul this year, but don't give up. From someone that knows how it is and I am a die-hard fan.

Anybody else get flashbacks to Sunshine in Remember the Titans when Logan Turner lined up under center?

the only time Opie Turner should get on the field is as the Starter or backup at Sam Hoston State or Texas State when they play at Ford. Not D1A quality. He is lucky his TD was not shot out of the air with the start of hunting season. Neither Smith or Turner can throw a consistent pass over about 35 yards. That's probably the reason Jones felt he needed to go with Mitchell.

Cant say I want more of LT only because he came in during garbage time. I think the scout team QB could have done that. The Rice D in garbage time was playing like our D the whole game
