In front of Dallas Hall...

...there was a very good crowd of students for the "game on the lawn." It was a very well organized event. Food, sponsors, events, giveaways, clean-up, etc. Kudos to the student programming team. I'd estimate about 1,500 were in attendance. One irony is that the opener against Navy a few years ago featured a fire on the berm at Ford, and yesterday's game watching party featured an out of control sprinkler system.

I saw a picture of Doh in Houston. Well, I got to share my blanket with Mohammed and Papa. I was sitting next to some female SMU track athletes who drew their attention.

About 1/4 to 1/3 of the crowd left at halftime but I was surprised by the number of females in attendance in the late third quarter. Maybe 2/3rds female. Rush hadn't started?

Anyway, great show and build up for the TSU game. ESPN was very excited about SMU football and so am I. The defense needs quite a bit of work, but that's no surprise after last year's performance.

At least the upperclassmen are teaching the freshman properly in one of our longstanding traditions.
