In Friday's Weekend Journal, an article points to U. of Utah and BYU as more rational with respect to what is spent on college FB Head Coaches. It references 21 coaches who make more than $2M per year, including Saban and our June Jones.

They have blinders on. Urban Meyer put Utah in the position they are in, not their current coach. Urban Meyer is worth $2,000,000 a year. As I said when Jones was hired, if he turns the program around in 5 years and then retires as he has said, our next coach will not cost nearly as much. We are paying $2,000,000 to pull up a program out of the depths of hell and into a respectable level of play. The cost is due to our unwillingness to step up and be competitive in the past. And yes I saw the game last night and yes I still think that in time this team will turn around now that the committment to do so has been made.
