Good stuff in this post ... and the comments

But seriously, I think all colleges have issues with getting the tailgaters into the game. Good luck against Tx State.

Good stuff! SMU continues to spend money, and be pro-active! How's that new stadium looking?

Oh yeah, it's time to tune in to our new, weekly, hour long radio show.

Another thread on the SMU board? More evidence of NTSU boy's obsession with SMU.
Go back to the ShunnedBelt board.

Its a post about SMU on SMU's board. It would be obsession if there was a post on North Texas' board pondering the score of SMU's next game. Good thing there isn't anything like that on Ponyfans.com ..... Oh wait,

I guess the overcusser must have gotten this info from the NT board where it was posted earlier this afternoon.

The Dallas Observer is directed towards the liberal left while The Dallas Morning News is directed towards the conservative right. Frankly, I could care less, either way.

Your obsession with SMU blinds you, that's a thread about the Tulsa game started by a guy who goes to Tulsa and knows Tulsa will hand NTSU its @ss.

It was a legitimate story -- the thrust of which was also posted on the "Around the Hilltop" board (don't know why a story about game experience wasn't posted here). Who cares who it came from?
And based on the story over on the Around the Hilltop board, the most disturbing thing is that part of the changes that the marketing "geniuses" thought of is have the team take the field to the "Pony Up!" song. I like the song, think it's funny and entertaining, but there is NO WAY it should be the team's entree onto the field instead of our fight song Peruna.
What the marketing "genuises" fail to understand -- yet again -- is that creating new schmaltzy "traditions" is not the way to get people in the stands for pre-game. People don't stay on the Boulevard and show up late because they don't like the Mustang Band playing Peruna. As others have said, it's about winning. And if these new pre-game festivities don't include the Mustang Band in a Diamond M playing Varsity, then I may not show up until half time.
My husband has mentioned on numerous occasions that when he was at Tech in the early and mid- 90s, very few students were in the stands (before or during the game). Now the student section is filled every game about an hour before kick off. It's not because they play different music or introduced different traditions. It's just that now their coach is Mike Leach, not Spike Dykes, and they are winning.

I still remember the opening day of the stadium and they played some great music and got everyone fired up. It was a sight to be seen really. After about 3 games they gave up on it. I think they need to go back to playing the music and figure out a way to get people more active. Wins will help but make the atmosphere better and people will come to have fun at the very least.

It was so hot that day I don't remember too much except that SMU beat Kansas. What music was played?
