My Observations

Postby SMU21TCU10 » Sun Sep 07, 2008 1:25 am

The things that really stick out in my mind are that Texas State had more total yards. They did not punt 1 time. The new announcer called the extra point block return a touchdown, and an extra point a field goal. And Martin tip-toes and dances around to much.

Here here.

I'll drink to that.

I tried to kill myself during the pre game festivites.

If we are getting five turnovers in a game, the other punter can be in another state for all I care. But 12/16 on 3rd down conversions is distressing, to say the least.

And it is hard to pick up a lot of yards when their kickoff team is letting you start your drives at the 40 ... wtf was up with their kicker?

a 2 point conversion-its not a Safety because the scoring team advanced the ball into the opponents endzone.

First, he called it a touchdown. Then, he called it a safety.

Of course, then again, I had some people around me ask why we were not given 6 points.

I expect the Public Address announcer to know the rules of the game. He is supposed to be a professional. To me, that includes understanding the rules better than the common fan in the stands.

Last year's announcer did not know the names of the players. I find that worse.

For the record, a safety on a PAT conversion attempt is worth 1 point (for either team). A touchdown on a PAT conversion attempt is worth 2 points (for either team). A field goal on a PAT conversion attempt is worth 1 point (for the team kicking - obviously).
