there was a huge line to get in if you were a student, they switched to a new swipping thing that made it so you would have to swipe your student id, but it backed up terribly and I think made alot of students just leave vs. standing in line for 20+ minutes to get into the game

I hope they address that, I noticed that the student section filled up nicely but few were there at the start of the game, I just figured it was student choice and hate to hear it was hard for you guys to get in the game.

They only used one gate for students. Another "top 25" improvement that needs some tweaking

Oops, I think they messed up.

They were supposed to make you swipe the card to leave the game if
you left before the game was over.

That was the reason I couldn't get in! As a recent grad, I still use my school ID to get in because they usually glance at it and you're in. Imagine my surprise when I see a line out the door only to find out they swipe them! Didn't want to wait on a line for 20+ minutes (already end of the 1st quarter by the time I got there) only to find out I couldn't get in. I'm too cheap to buy tickets, even if the cheapest was $14. Oh well, hopefully next time I'll tailgate earlier and leave earlier.

There was a line for we old people to get in also because they were scanning the tickets instead of just tearing stubs.

Don't know how it was at your gate, but for the 10 or so people in front of us, they had to bring in three seperate scanners because they all kept malfunctioning.

Did not know what the problem was but I did miss the good old days of stub tearing.

I would be ok with some sophisticated scanners, but those little point and click thingies that they could not even aim at the tickets leave a lot to be desired. I can get through the self check aisle at Kroger with 15 items quicker.

at ND students are only allowed in Gate E. there's always a 15 or so minute wait to get in, and that's half an hour before kickoff.

the remedy to the student problem is putting W's on the board. last night was a good start.

I spoke with my daughter this morning and she told me the students stood throughout the first half and banged their thunder sticks.

She also said her friends decided to leave before the second half began as they told her that was the thing to do.

She said she wanted to stay but they told her that was not the "in" thing to do!

Sounds like a retraining program is going to be required for more than our "D"!

I'm telling you, the "if you leave before the end of the game you can't go through rush" rumor might be the way to go! ;-)
