Good call or bad call?

When JJ called for taking a knee with less than 1:00 to play last night and the ball was on the 2 yd. line (I think. It was inside the 5, at least), was it a good call or a bad call?

Frankly, I thought it showed class on JJ's part and it didn't p!ss off the other team or their fans.

Of course, someone pointed out to me that it hurt SMU's Red Zone efficiency rating.

So...what does everyone else think? Good call or bad call?

Classy call...Everyone knows we could have scored a touchdown, it wasn't about stats at that point. However, any Bobcat fans that talk trash, should be reminded of it.

I haven't heard any of them doing that. They have all been very complimentary of the SMU Gameday Experience and fans.

Great call. I am proud that we don't run the score up on people.

The biggest reason I hate Houston and Tech is because their coaches are still throwing for the end zone wit 2 minutes left and up by 21 +.

Absolutely classless to run up the score on a team obviously beaten.

Classy, and the right thing to do. But I really wanted to see the Mustangs score there. I never claimed to be a good sport.

Absolutely the right call. Red zone efficiency numbers don't matter as much as doing things the right way. Coach Jones knows we probably could have scored again, and I'd bet he doesn't care about that percentage.

Besides, what if someone had gotten hurt while going for it? Coach Jones would have been barbequed for that call ... and rightly so.

Without question - the right call.

JJ is not Lumpy. It was a classy thing to do, and will not 'keep us out of a bowl or impress pollsters.'

Do not expect the same mercy from our foe this week...given the chance, score every point possible against the Sand Aggies. They will be doing precisely that to SMU.

Of course it was the right call. We tried to score by throwing down to the 2 yard line to begin with. I think it was third down so a pass was not unwarranted, but to try and score from there would have meant one of 2 things, 1. Our coach is like Leech, or 2. Our coach took SMU and gave 14.
