Completely encircled second deck-some of the early pictures don't show the most recent renovations. Texas/OU will be rather loud.

Isn't the Cotton Bowl game moving to the new Jerry World next season?

Too bad that wasn't done 10 yrs ago when it should have been. Thanks Laura!!

What is the capacity now?

Yes, the Cotton Bowl Classic will be moved in 2010.

The TX-OU game will continue through 2011?

Impressive. Hadn't been to the Cotton Bowl since the 80s.

Perhaps some day, when SMOOOO gets their act together, we can play some of our "big" games there - like ND or Texas.

Like I said - "some day".

Back in the M&M days my parents started taking me to SMU games at the Cotton Bowl. Oh how fun.

15 years ago this should have happened and 5 years ago - Ms. Freaking Laura Miller should have combined this money with ( I hate to say ) Jerry J. to build a brand new stadium.

I bet the old restrooms are still nasty.

I am really surprised that the ponyfans don't have more reverence for the house that Doak built. I loved it when we played games at the Cotton Bowl.

Perhaps a yes & no answer. I for one do & believe so many others do have a reverence for the place. However, since we've let our program lapse for 20+ years plus the move from the CB to Texas Stadium in the late 70's or early 80's (which was a big, big mistake), too much grass has grown under all of us.

If we had kept our winning ways, continued (& not ditched under Hitch) our marketing programs at that time that Potts had instituted, stayed at the Cotton Bowl - which we often had crowds of 40K to 70K, we'd now be packing it out as a member of the BCS-BS & that reverence you speak of would have been instilled in another generation or two. But unfortunately, our administration made some bonehead moves & here we & the CB are today - separated, confused, & looking for someone to love us while pointing fingers at everyone else when both of us were to blame all along.

Growing up A SWC fan, I hold the Cotton Bowl in the highest regard and loved when we played games there. I do love Ford and its nice to be on Campus, but I wish we would still play one game a year at the Cotton Bowl during the State Fair....an SMU game during the Fair was always great fun and I really miss it.

I always thought it would be a great idea to play TCU at the Cotton bowl every year, alternating home and away just like Texas and OU. The Cotton Bowl is forever a part of SMU and I wish we could still play a game there every now and then.

IF (a big IF) SMU ever schedules Notre Dame, playing the game at the Cotton Bowl instead of Jerry's World is a no-brainer.

Since the State Fair of Texas is in October, any OOC game that SMU would schedule during this time would be difficult, but not impossible. Heck, the Mustangs are playing Navy in October in Annapolis.
