From USA Today:
THIS WEEK'S GAME: SMU at Texas Tech, Sept. 13 Tech leads the overall series 30-16 and has not lost a nonconference game since 2006 (12-3 at TCU). The last time the Mustangs won a matchup against the Red Raiders was back in the Southwest Conference days in 1986. Craig James was only three years removed from the vaunted Pony Express and will see his son, Adam James, play tight end for Tech against dad's alma mater.

yes he's worked his way into the two-deep last time I checked. BTW I heard Craig say on TV that he would have liked to have had his son go to SMU but that the kid had absolutely no interest in SMU.
UPDATE-only 1 catch for 9 yards so his playing time must be limited. I bet he plays that H-Back position.

And vice versa. Call it "mutual disinterest."
He's listed on the second team on this week's Tech depth chart.

I always thought that the #1 reason he choose 4 more years of high school was that he was a better baseball player than football. I even want to say he was scholarshiped in baseball and walk-on in football.
Now, if we only had baseball back at SMU...

Craig's brother played a few years in the Majors. I believe he was with the Phillies for a while. It makes sense that Craig's son would have interest in two sports.

I do remember reading sometime during the recruiting stages that Craig was upset with SMU, not for not offering him a scholarship, but for not even contacting him.

That's right. He was grey-shirted in Baseball and redshirted Football as he entered his first semester in the Spring. I don't believe he's still on the baseball team though.
He has done pretty well as TE so far in the first two games. You'll see him get his PT on Saturday night.

Cant do that. If you're on athletic scholarship and play football, it has to be a football scholarship. Otherwise, schools would create ping pong and chess teams just to hide phony scholarships for football.
AirRaid seems to be suggesting that he isnt on baseball scholarship any longer.

Yeah, he's done with Baseball. He probably quit because of all the Catchers we have and also to concentrate on Football.

It's not like he needs the money. Where does the James' family live? Where did the son go to high school?
