thread on raiderpower.com that was referenced here said pumps that were supposed to drain the thing failed overnight, and they thought they'd either have it fixed or explore other options (i.e. fire dept).
Another poster said the drainage main that Jones drains into was full, but would be ok later and the field should start draining tonight.
Remnants of a storm from the Pacific created a "100 year rain" in Lubbock.

Just got this email from a Tech guy I know.
"The game is on. There is something wrong with the pumps at the stadium. The fire department is pumping it out as we speak. They have had 7.5 inches of rain."

Guess they can pump it back in after the game for the Lubbock kinfolk's swimmin' hole.

Sounds like San Jose St. all over again.
If they can not drain it does TT forfeit?

2005 NCAA rules: ARTICLE 2. The score of a forfeited game, or a suspended game that later
results in a forfeiture, shall be: Offended Team-1, Opponent-0. If the
offended team is ahead at the time of forfeit, the score stands (Rules 3-3-3-
a and b, and Rules 9-2-3-a and b).
When was our last shutout?

What if you had a financial interest in a forfeited game? Score would be 1-0? So much for the over in that case.
I just hope the Tech fans take the opportunity to get a bath in before the tub gets drained.
