OK, it's been three games

June Jones said after the first three games of the season, he was going to evaluate his QB play and decide what the next step would be.
OK, so here is Mitchell completing about 57 percent of his passes for about 775 yards 8TDs and 8 ints. Granted 370 and 5TDs came against Texas State. But the numbers are what they are.
But what are your options?
Do you re-visit Willis? Dicey because I'm guessing he's either getting no or a small percentage of the practice snaps. And he may be spending time at WR.
Do you look at Turner? He ran the offense in the spring and has mop up duty but that isn't really a lot to give a fair evaluation?
Still think he's staying with Mitchell come he!! or high water, but it should be an interesting Monday press conference.

BLM refuses to run at all. I don't know if he is afraid he will be in JJ's doghouse or what but when it is there you have to take it. His forced pass that was intercepted when the field was wide open to run made me want to break something!
What is wrong with playing your experienced QB and letting the rooks play when they are ready?
It is not as if you have injuries and are forced to use your just out of High School QB!
USC has all these QB's who wait and learn until they are truly ready.
Terrelle Pryor, the nation's top-ranked high school quarterback, looked like a deer caught in the headlights as well tonight.
Unless we are willing to totally give up on this year (5 INTS by BLM) I think Justin deserves the start against TCU.

I think logan turner has looked good, granted the 2 times he has played it was late in the game against 2nd team D backs, however, i think he looks better than BLM

I thought conversely that while he looked okay in the Rice game, he looked quite uncomfortable tonight. Not sure why, but his throws were not good.

I disagree completely. His reads were much worse than BLMs and his accuracy was terrible. If he's really the 2nd best QB on the squad (which I seriously doubt) then we need to stick with BLM.

I think you have to stick with your starter in this situation. Sure he threw a bunch of INTs tonight, but they weren't all his fault necessarily. Also, he was playing against the number 12 team in the nation.
Give the kid a chance to get some experience. If June saw something in him, I have faith.

Are you kidding, June obviously knows less than the folks on this board, I mean JW won us 1 whole game last year, he deserves to be the starter.

BLM will remain the starter for the Mustangs for the remainder of 2008 (unless he gets hurt). Bank on it.

Scared to death to play the #12 ranked team in the nation? Worried that the fans would be calling for his head (again, just like the first 2 games) if he made any mistakes? General nerves or a bad night? Could be any number of things. We got outplayed tonight. I noticed that a couple of the interceptions seemed to go where there was no receiver. Maybe there was some miscommunication there. I won't put it all at BLM's feet.

I have no problem with that. We were playing the #12 team in the nation tonight, I actually exoected worse.

yes, he will. LT is not even close to a legit d-1 qb any time soon. and I think JJ would start serge elize at qb before he would start jwill. that is just not happening because that is a "no win" for jj.
I am long past thinking willis has any future here. the problem is our qb of the future is most likely not even in the program right now. jj needs to get a juco, and a good one, signed this december. or a dynamic freshman who you can really see a future in like Baylor has now.

If June was true to his word and said he would evaluate the QB position after 3 games...then BO needs to sit his [deleted] on the bench....Just terrible....
Yes, he beat Texas St. but 8 interceptions against Rice and Tech? Give me a break....as I said all along he should have been red shirted, now he is ruined...
Revamp and start Willis....
Go Ponies!!!!!!!!!!!

Here we go again. Willis could not do any better.
