Patrick Fleming

Defensively the Mustangs struggled throughout the whole game. I believe that before the end of the season they will get it turned around. I like the blitzing and aggressive play calling. The guys just need to find the ball. Simple as that. Oh, and tackle.

There was however, a bright spot on the field last night. Patrick Fleming, SO 1yr Lt., showed me that he is a good player with the potential and skills to be great. This kid has tremendous speed of the ball and uses his hands extremely well. I know most of you will point to his face masking penalty. But go back and look at the inside move he made to get to Graham. As this young player matures and gets a few more games under his belt, I see him as becoming one of the defensive stars for June's Mustangs. Keep up the good work Patrick. Go Stangs.

And consider he started playing defensive end for the first time this spring.

Take a look at this guy up close. He's got a chance to be enormous. He looks a lot thicker than last year, and he has a huge frame that looks like he could carry a great deal more weight. Put him next to Taylor Thompson, Braylon Williams, etc., and we suddenly have some defensive ends who really look the part, and appear to be very good athletes.

Coach Jones agrees with you, 35Straight - he specifically mentioned Patrick Fleming at his press conference this morning, citing him as a player with considerable potential.

Not bad for a jumped up TE eh? He's really transformed from two years ago when he was a recruit.

Although after watching the game last night, he could be playing for the Cowboys. I think there was a facemask grabbed (several weren't called) on most tackles last night.

You want a Tech touchdown or a penalty. Not saying he did that on purpose, but sometimes the penalty is worth it.
