Harrell makes obvious audible

Against SMU, Michael Crabtree hauled in a 47-yard touchdown in what seemed like solitary confinement, waving his hand in the air as if calling for a fair catch.

The All-American, who sits third nationally in receiving yards, apparently was rerouted at the line of scrimmage by Harrell.

Hamby said Harrell called an audible with five seconds left on the play clock, except this audible was very simple for a defense to pick up on.

"Harrell looks over at Crab, he (yelled), 'Just run a vertical, just run a vertical,'" Hamby said. "The defensive backs are thinking he's lying. Crab runs a vertical, touchdown. I looked at Graham, I was like, 'Real mature. Real cool.' He's like, 'You like that?'"

That is true. Talk about a man among boys. Crabtree is a phenomenal talent.

I just hope someday we keep these guys around here. It got old seeing hometowns of the Tech players on the scoreboard...Dallas TX (Crabtree)...McKinney TX...Gainesville TX. And I have no idea how that got an LB (I think he was an LB) from Baton Rouge to go to Lubbock. Unless LSU didn't recruit him.

No, LSU did not recruit the LB from Baton Rouge. They had 3 or 4 good LB prospects in that class and I think two from Texas. I guess LSU was too familiar with him. LSU still has good LBs though.

I get tired of seeing Texas star players go out of state as well. I obviously like recruiting in Dallas because of all the talent, but I do agree seeing guys go out of state is frustrating.

sorta like Jordan telling the defender he was going to fake left, drive baseline and dunk and then doing exactly that
