Man, I wish that Martin could run with half of the tenacity, toughness, and heart that Barber does. Martin is so slow getting started on those draw plays, it could be overlooked if he ran like a 5th year senior, that is 6'2 230lbs.

Martin has been a disappointment to me. He is running better this year than he did last year, but he is slow and worst not running over anyone. He has had only the one good run where he hurdled a defender and scored. I remember him showing more promise as a freshman. Perhaps the injury his sophomore year took more out of him than I expected. I also have been disappointed in McKinney's running. I thought he would run over people, but so far -nope. Butler has looked the best at running to me.

He seems to take forever to get going. Need a Barron Batch type of runner.

He does more tiptoeing around when he gets the ball than he used to. Put your head down full speed and knock 'em over.

In the last few years he looks really good the first game or two and them looks really slow hitting the hole the rest of the year. Let's give someone else a look.

JJ needs to recruit a top notch back-then the run would have to be respected.

Here's an idea. Put Willis back there as a running back. In comparison to Martin, he's quicker and is able to juke tacklers - which Demyron cannot do.

Not to mention used to running for his life. Give JW a running head start for a change. Or once in awhile a direct snap.

Good point. Barber is a stud. Wish Martin had a thirst for hurting people with a stiff arm.

Martin is doing a good job at one thing though, picking up his blocking assignments and doing it well. The running thing can be debated.

I agree on the blocking. Our QB has had much more time this year and that can not all be due to true freshman on the OL.
