Marquis Frazier Back On The Field This Week

When Navarro hosts Kilgore (1-1) to open Southwest Junior College Football Conference play this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium, it could have as many as four projected preseason starters on the field for the first time.
That decimating pass rush could be aided this week with the return of defensive tackle Marquis Frazier, defensive end Blake Chavis and linebacker Boom Jones. All three have not played a down this season and should give an additional shot of depth to an already deep defense.
Frazier missed the playoffs a year ago with an ACL injury and was not been released by his doctor for the first two games in 2008. Jones also suffered a season-ending knee injury in the first round of the postseason but could make his way on the field as a regular during conference play. A double-signee with Texas A&M, Chavis made an immediate impression during two-a-days, using his lanky 6-5, 235-pound frame and ample quickness to consistently put pressure on the quarterback.
