ESPN has them at #24

Good for us. Gives us another shot at a ranked team . . .

They were ranked last time we beat 'em, too.

Might be the best looking TCU team I've seen this decade.

Not an offical poll.

They thought that about two years ago too. How'd that go?

That's scary General, given that the LaDanian Tomlinson teams killed us.

But did you notice the Raiders held SMU scoreless until 3:29 was left in the fourth quarter? That was a nice surprise.

Is that a kind of props from ESPN?

I don't think people will be counting on SMU to be a scoring machine any time soon after this. :(

You are correct - But - if we were to win - I am sure we would be claiming in the following week's game notes that we beat a ranked team . . .

True. Regardless of where TCU is or is not ranked, this poll is just as "official" in my mind as any of the other polls (human or computer). I'd actually trust this poll a lot more than I would the coaches poll for example.

Sort of like us claiming the National Championship in 1982 because at least one poll (an obscure one) had us winning. The major polls, AP/UPI/USAToday, had Penn State's -Joe Pa Pity National Championship getting the nod with us a #2.

Does adding black count?

I'm serious. They've got it going on. I think they'd beat everybody in the Big East and just about everybody in the ACC, 2/3s of the Big 10 and at least 5 in the Pac 10. Dalton isn't going to wow people but he knows how to move the offense and get the ball to the right people.

The only way Stanford scored against TCU was on a blocked punt (?) and on a reverse. Look at the stats PonySoprano posted. They aren't inflated. Well, against SFA they were. But when you go to New Mexico and kick their cans (New Mexico beat Arizona) and drop the hammer on a decent Stanford team, which beat Oregon St, which was ranked at the time, then you've got something.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised that when they're done taking care of us, they go to OU and give the Sooners more than they want. Could be a repeat of 2005 in Norman if the Sooners all they want.

When they play BYU in October at Amon Carter and then go to Utah in November, you're going to have some really good football games. I may have to go to Amon Carter just to watch that BYU game.
