How important do you think this game is for recruiting now that SMU has a high profile coach like June Jones?

Not that important. SMU already has 20 commitments, SMU and TCU don't go up against each other for too many prospects.

Truly an indication of how far our program is behind TCU. As Stallion has pointed out many times, TCU recruits faster, stronger and higher rated athletes than SMU, and has for many years now. This weekend may be more evident of that than ever before.

Do you think SMU fans would rather go .500 or win three or four games with a win against TCU?

"That is easy, they would rather be that one loss to TCU’s record line."

Seriously???

Not really, but when that's all you got to show for 20 years....

I know - and that's just one guy talking - but I think it's obvious you would rather lose to TCU and go 7-5 as opposed to beating TCU and going 3-9.

Clearly said by someone who isn't a Mustang and doesn't know many. Beating Froggy High is nice, but I'd damn sure prefer to beat enough other teams that we compete for a C-USA championship and get a crack at a bowl game. That guy doesn't know anything about the Ponies or PonyFans.

He actually didn't answer the question. He didn't say beat TCU at all costs, just that being TCU's only loss (as it was a couple of years ago) is pretty sweet. He may have meant winning 3-4 and one of them being TCU, but he might have just been saying that beating your rival is always good. Anyways, just a thought...
