Austin Viewing Party?

I'm going to be in Austin for business on Thursday. Any Austin Ponyfans have a recommendation for a good place to watch the game (that is, a place with a large supply of adult beverages)?

Thanks in advance.

Don't know if there's an organized event. If you're going to be near downtown, Third Base is probably the best option. It's on Sixth, just east of Mopac.

Surely, ThadFilms or LHF68 can set you up.

I'm taking it upon myself to organize one. Most likely at Uncle Billy's on Barton Springs. That's the night before ACL so that will be the last night that Barton Springs will be truly accessible... I know most of the folks at Billy's good guys. Great TVs... if I can get enough people to commit we should be able to get sound, etc. Heck, I just had three people for the SMU/Tech game and we got sound.

Anyway, I'll have something more definitive later today/tomorrow.

Uncle Billy's is an interesting combination. It's a brew-pub/BBQ joint/sports bar, and seeing as it's I guess only in it's second or third year in existence it has yet to really find it's niche in any of three, but does all three very well (and yes they have a full bar).... so they have been very accommodating in the past. Providing myself and friends with spots to watch the Stars and Mavs with audio, etc.

I'll also see if I can get some sort of drink special for us. More as it develops. But anyone, in the ATX already interested go ahead and let me know. I'll talk to the GM, and tell him between 51-0 for now, as I am sure I can wrangle at least 7 folks no problem. But hopefully we can get a lot more.

Sounds good, ThadFilms. Thanks for putting this together. I'll be there (not sure of the time, but I'll be there).

They Flying Saucer in the Triangle is always a great place to grab some beers and watch the game.

Wow, been in Austin for 20 years and did not know we had a Flying Saucer. I hope the one in Addison does not rat me out to the one down here.

Sweet. Sounds great. Talked to the folks over there and we are good to go. They don't do reservations, but they have nothing planned and there really is only one other game of interest that night. No NFL. The only other sport going on is baseball. Rangers aren't playing and even if they were they wouldn't be playing for anything. Astros are playing but playing for nothing.

The other game is some school in Southern California you've never heard of, I think they call themselves the University of Southern California, how original I know. Anyhow that game starts an hour later, we'll be fine.

I'll get there a half hour to an hour before, make sure to stake a good spot. By my unofficial count we are looking at 7 people, but I am going to put in a call to a few folks that I know would be up for this kind of thing. SHould be a decent group.

I would post a link to the Uncle Billy's site, but 94 is all over it.
