I personally think we'll lose to Tulane 35-17, we just don't have the players on defense to keep them from moving the ball at will against us. However I do think we'll manage more than 1 TD.

JW is a WR now. Deal with it.

I'm going with Tulane!

Tulane 31
SMU 9

To all SMU fans: As a Tulane fan I know what its like to lose ... Trust! Just have faith in your coach and give it a year or two. It looks like June Jones is building a program from the ground up ... and that takes time! Toledo is doing the same thing at Tulane. You just have to be patient. I'm sure in years 3 and 4 you'll see much improvement in the win column.

Roll Wave!

LSU Law,

Thanks for the encouragement. I think the issue for myself and probably many SMU fans is just how far away we really are from where we want to be. We all knew that June Jones had the best single season turnaround in the history of college football and while I think most of us weren't expecting that kind of turnaround, we did expect to see MUCH better than what we've seen so far. I haven't given up hope on this thing b/c a coach like Jones has proven to be successful wherever he's been. However, it is sobering as a fan when you line up to play freaking Rice and have no chance at even being competitive or not being able to force a Div.1AA team to punt once in a game or to look like a high school team against Tech and TCU. There really haven't been any positives to take from these first four games other than to say they are behind us and good riddance.

I've been VERY negative this week, but I don't post negatively like some posters (who know who it is) to draw attention to myself or my "model" or "ideas". Its because we all need to see this thing for what it is. Like I mentioned, even Jones is dumbfounded by what he's seen so far. We are just dreadful guys. Alot of it can be attributed to playing a ton of freshmen, but the scary thing is that we are just flat out not very talented at ANY position on the field outside of the punter. Its going to take JUCOs, transfers, winning a recruiting battle here and there against TCU/Tech/Okie State to get this thing going. But that's what we're paying $2mil a season for. Lets call this season for what it is. A learning experience. Next season I want to see wins.
