someone who remembers, what were the characteristics of Toledo's UCLA teams? It seems like ages ago, but I think it was the year K State should've gone to the national title game. UCLA was ranked number one, but met Edgerrin James in Miami, and K State subsequently laid an egg against TAMU. Seems like the UCLA dominated all season. And they've been downhill since.
I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I'm not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience.
I seem to recall Flanigan playing UCLA to a standstill in the Rose Bowl. I think the end result was 17-10. Was Toledo coaching UCLA then? Seems a little far back, but I don't know. "Moderation in all things, and especially in Absoluts [vodka]." The Benediction, Doc Breeden, circa 1992
That game was in 1994 and Terry Donahue was still coaching UCLA. I believe Bob Toledo was the OC at A$M back at that time. "It'd be nice to see Jesse Henderson break one here."
