Monday morning JJ PC

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm glad to hear something BESIDES "well we need to be better as coaches better as players and keep doing what we do."

That said, JJ sounds lot more like one of us, which may not be as rosy as some may desire. At times he sounds downright [deleted]. Much like we often opine that we need to recruit better, etc., I think JJ is seeing and feeling this first hand. More than once he comments that the players work hard in practice, and he doesn't have a problem with their effort there. Sounds like he's acknowledging that if you have a bunch of 1AA players with a 2 or 3 star here and there, all the practice in the world won't change the talent level.

I thought exasperated would've been a good word to describe how he sounded at times.

-25 times in the first half we had opportunities to do things but missed them, offensively
-defense did well all 2nd half, so we kicked deep. Tulane had it at the 10, stop them again and we get the ball at midfield. Our D lined up wrong on the first play, and they got 8 yards.
-for those of you that are hard-headed, JJ says Braden is the backup and referenced that we "took 2 QBs to Tulane, and will to Orlando" also. Mentioned in an emergency, "Justin will be the emergency QB." He is a WR now.

I am kind of curious as to whether he would use Braden or Willis if Bo went down for one play with the breath knocked out, or a cramp, or something of that nature.

He has no reason to sound exasperated or [deleted]. It's his offense. He makes the personnel decisions, prepares the gameplan, and calls the plays. If they don't go three and out a half dozen times in the first time, the defense might not be gassed so badly. They got it together in the second half, and I commend the team and coaches for that.

To me, the decision to kick deep was reasonable. It would have been the same reasonable if on-side as well.

As for being hardheaded with BLM (and Braden) above Willis, well, I think the scoring stats say it all. That may make me a geek, but hey, if you don't turn the ball over, make all your 1st downs, and score more than your opponent, you tend to win.

Who were they talking about being suspended when Jones said: "He should have been thrown out of that game and suspended for another one"?

I rewound it a few times but couldn't make it out.

Probably the official that waved off the pass interference call.

Yeah, I think that's it. I was wondering what was going to come of that. I hope it's just for a game.

When was the last time we had a player suspended by the conference? It doesn’t seem that happens very often.

Didn't Hawaii and Tulane have a big dust up at the Hawaii Bowl? Maybe Tulane came expecting a dirty game and it became a self-fulfilling prophecy.

So, are you predicting that we will get someone suspended after the Houston game as well?

a soothsayer I am not, however I do support thugging up our roster to the extent that it helps on the field performance

Dude, I've been watching this train wreck for the last 20 years. If this was an emergency, it would have been declared DOA a long time ago.
