I know SMU doesn't have exact controls over scheduling athletic games, but why fall break and a home football game coinside, I have no idea. Fall break is this upcoming week end, so I would expect tailgate to be a little boring due to less students being around and the student section to look like the second half in the first half.

Yep, I'll be visiting my twin bro in Vandy for the break. I was hoping I would be able to watch a real football game there, but there's nothing scheduled. /cry

Students these days are so f-ing coddled. When I was in school there was no fall break, and we had to walk to class up hill both ways, in the snow.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

We've been in school since August 21st. And Fall break is only Monday and Tuesday.

Don't forget the 30 mph wind in your face...both ways.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

God forbid that the one student section is not full. This should reduce attendance by a good 300 people.

The Department specifically asked for this date as an away game, and does every year, because of, ta-da, the Red River Shootout. And even though the conference offices are hundreds of miles away in Irving, they decided to flip us the bird and say no, it's a home game.

I would be here for the game, but I'm flying out to USC to visit some friends and go to the SC/ Arizona St. game. I'm most bummed that I am missing our rugby game vs Tulsa on Friday night. Texas/OU rugby B teams play before us, then we play, the the Texas/OU A teams play after. All games are at the intramural field near frat row. Our coach said there were almost 3000 people there for the TX/OU rugby game last year which might be exaggeration, but either way I'm bummed I'm missing the chance to play in front of that many people. Those of you with nothing to do on Friday should check it out.
