SMU Postgame Notes

TEAM

Chris Butler’s 38-yard run in the second quarter is SMU’s longest run play of the season



Bryan McCann had a career-best two interceptions, becoming the first SMU player with multiple picks in a game since Devin Lowery had three interceptions against Marshall in 2006.



Emmanuel Sanders was 6-132 receiving, his ninth career 100-yard receiving game which ties Emanuel Tolbert for the SMU career record. It is also Sanders fifth 100-yard game this season, tying the SMU record held by Jerry LeVias with five in 1968.



Emmanuel Sanders and Aldrick Robinson receiving tandems
- Now have 14 receiving TDs on the season (Robinson 8, Sanders 6), which is tied for fourth in a season at SMU
- Now have 1467 receiving yards combined (Sanders 744, Robinson 723), which is fifth in a season at SMU



INDIVIDUAL

Cole Beasley - Had season-highs of 8 receptions and 94 yards and had his first touchdown reception



Will Bonilla - Butkus Award Candidate
- played in his 39th career game with 16 career starts
- had a season-high 11 tackles



Chris Butler - Had a career-high 9 rushes and 95 rushing yards



Rock Dennis - Had his first career forced fumble



Serge Elizee - Had his first career sack



Patrick Fleming - Had one sack and now has two sacks on the season



Jessie Henderson
- Had 7 kickoff returns for 136 yards
- Now has 103 kickoff returns, extending his SMU record and is tied for second in C-USA history (C-USA record is Chris Johnson, ECU, at 115 followed by Zek Parker, Louisville, at 103)
- Now has 2490 kickoff return yards, extending his SMU record and moving is third in C-USA history
- Had his 10th career game with at least 100 yards on kickoff returns, third this season



Bryan McCann - Had a career-best two interceptions and now has two interceptions on the season and seven for his career


Andrew McKinney - Had career-highs of 9 rushes and 38 rushing yards



Bo Levi Mitchell
- Had 4 TD passes and now has 17 on the season, which is tied for fifth in a season at SMU
- Had 318 passing yards, which is his third 300-yard game this season
- Had four passing TDs in a game, his second time with at least four passing TDs ad the 11th time a player has had four or more in a game at SMU



Thomas Morstead
- Had 7 points (4 PAT, FG) and now has 190 for his career, which moves him into seventh at SMU
- Had 5 punts for 183 yards; season average is now 43.8
- Career punting average is now 44.1, which is first at SMU and tied for second in C-USA
- Hit a 46-yard FG, and is 5-of-7 on the season
- He now has 31 made field goals in his career, moving into third at SMU (record is 44 by Eddie Garcia followed by 36 by Chris McMurtray)
- Had a 56-yard punt and has had at least one 50-yard punt in 14 straight games and 29 of the last 31 games



Aldrick Robinson
- Had 3 receptions for 67 yards with a TD
- Had a TD catch for the third straight game, tying his career best (first 3 games this season); it is just the seventh time a players has had a TD reception in three straight games
- He has a TD catch in six of seven games this season
- Now has 8 TD catches this season, which ties for fifth in a season at SMU
- Has 723 receiving yards on the season, 11th-best in a season at SMU



Emmanuel Sanders
- had 6 receptions for 132 yards and a TD
- Has 744 receiving yards on the season, eighth-most at SMU

And Evan Huaulua ( sp ) did not get to spell Serge when he came out.
DAM, if you have been watching this year.... when Serge comes out we get pushed around like Red Headed Step Children. ( Don't cry about that statement.)
Tulsa ran and did what they wanted to as all others have.

I do not understand and want better for this team.

If he is going to still get a Red Shirt I retract the above because we have no other SIZE to put in. Nothing against who is in but they are TOO small for the position.

Go Mustangs.
